How to set up your mobile device to work with CRM 3.0 Mobile

The most common heard problem on how to setup your PDA to work with CRM 3.0 Mobile is how to connect to the different network environments.

In most scenarios you don't want to expose your CRM server to a direct internet connection, but you want your employees to connect via a more secure VPN connection.

We have published a walkthrough on how to setup the different network connection on your PDA to access you company's private network via your PDA to be able to sync CRM 3.0 Mobile with Dynamics CRM 3.0.

CRM Mobile 3.0 Installed

I just finished installing CRM Mobile 3.0.

This was really easy. The installation instructions are really clear.

I remember all the trouble we had with installing the CRM Mobile 1.2 version. Maybe because of all the problems I have seen with that installation, I knew what I had to do woth this installtion, so it was a bit easier.

Setting up the SSL website will be the most difficult part of the installation for most of the not-so-technical installers.

My advice, let someone who really knows IIS, SSL and Certificates help you with that step.

Microsoft has released more info on the new CRM Mobile 3.0.

CRM 3.0 Mobile ships!!!

Microsoft is pleased to announce the on schedule RTM of CRM Mobile 3.0 (US-English).

This release of CRM Mobile embodies the extraordinary hard work and dedication of a focused team.
CRM Mobile 3.0 will be available as a web download early next week and will ship to customers under volume licensing in May. Localized versions (French, Spanish & German) should be available by the end of April.

Some of the highlights of this release include:

• Over the air (Wireless WAN) synchronization support
• Full enablement of internet facing topologies
• Support for advanced device features like high DPI, keyboard, landscape/portrait mode etc
• Technology stack upgrade to support Windows Mobile 5.0, .NET CF 2.0 & SQL CE 3.0
• SFA application enhancements to support 3.0 features of CRM core

CRM Mobile 3.0 builds on the reputation of its predecessor as being one of most easily deployable and customizable mobile applications in the market today.
